This story is hitting the world’s press now let’s hope some international pressure builds so this poor animal can live the remainder of its life in a far better environment, although I won’t hold my breath.

You can't merely release a long term captive gorilla into the wild, nor introduce them into an established social group. Though herbivorous, and avoidant of man, they are territorial, and harem guarding. 

The compassionate right thing to do is find the gorilla a comfortable open luxury and climate controlled indoor sanctuary to live its remaining time it has left. Let it experience quality fun life. But Bua Noi is not the only animal in this mall, and to some extent is sort of taken care of pretty well as have read. Catch 22 of darned if they do and darned if they don’t.
