In all fairness I think the monks are not averse to a tipple or two, but what a great excuse when these 3 monks gave when caught drinking.

Three Buddhist monks are facing expulsion from monkhood after they were caught drinking alcohol on New Year’s Day, which is a violation of their rules. Apparently, locals gave rice whiskey to the temple as an offering to their ancestors, but a monk says they drank the alcohol as a way to “deliver the alcohol to the dead people.” 😂😂😂

Another monk was passed out in the temple and exposing himself after too many sherbets.

Would you smoke when visiting a Roman Cathedral? or talk loudly  in a Basilica? I guess the rules are almost similar. 

Although Dress code can be a bit annoying to visit some of these sacred attractions.
