Although this could, and does, happen anywhere, the idea of being a single farang male in "dating mode" here in Thailand, rings alarm bells in my head.   Fair odds there's a current and/or ex-boyfriend/husband/gik stewing in possessive jealousy and Leo beer somewhere in the background.  

And so there you are, happy as a clam and dumb as a post until one night a couple 1,000 Baht ninjas rock up to make you famous in the next day's issue of Thaiger News.  

Years later, relatives thumbing through a photo album: 

"Oh, that was my Mum's brother, Uncle Charlie.  He retired, sold up and moved to Thailand, but wound up face down in a rice field khlong, so they burned his corpse in a large pizza oven, and that was the end of Uncle Charlie".  🎯
