My wife has the same ambition. 

Shouldn't laugh every coin that comes into OUR possession goes in this big tin.

I hate coins so they go in a tin.

Surplus 20 Baht notes go in an old cookie jar. 

Both get emptied by my missus and finish up in our large golden money pig. We empty it every couple of years, recently we took 18,000 Baht out.

 

I keep surplus (and 'grubby') 100 Baht notes in a separate box. Last year I bought 5 Baht of gold with the stash

I do not KNOW, but I suspect the gold dealer is making more than 2% on his exchanges.
