TWS60 Posted March 4, 2023 #288884 Share Posted March 4, 2023 (edited) I'll go out on a limb here and guess the airline with the longest, most clumsy sounding name, will fail first. IMHO, LandArch's use of light aircraft taxing people and bits of cargo between smaller provincial airports, has worked before, at least for a while. Ref: Kan Air flying Cessna Caravans up North several years ago before ceasing operations. Wisdom Air emerged next for about 2 years before winding down. Be interesting to see if LandArch can make a go of the inter-provincial model down South. Edited March 4, 2023 by TWS60
Pinetree Posted March 4, 2023 #288897 Share Posted March 4, 2023 Oh dear. More 'business people' with more money than sense. How to burn money without having to try. Watch out for whoever buys ATRs to serve their routes,

Only worse thing than starting a restaurant or bar is starting an airline.
Vigo Posted March 4, 2023 #288976 Share Posted March 4, 2023 If the airlines serve the airports that are not served now, then the market will determine viability. There are 20+ airports that have limited or no service and high season service would boost tourism. Examples are Hua Hin, Roi Et, Tran, Mai Hong, Mai Song, Trat, Rayong, Had Yai, and Chumphon. The area around Roi Et has some fabulous beaches and tourism has breat potential. the limiting factor to date is access.

The old worn out cliché still stands. If you want to make a small fortune from owning an airline, better start off with a very big fortune.
