Was the house in her name, or will she be able to keep it due to being a domestic partner? and/or are there any other funds (life insurance, etc) she may get as a result of his death? if yes then it's unlikely it's suicide.

A wise man once said- make sure you stay worth more to them alive than dead.

Wait for the last details if there indeed was a crisis in his home of birth and what it was. Too vague and not good to comment until after. If she is innocent and has nothing to fear and the title is in her name, then hopefully she gets everything. Seeing death leaves a scar, but a throat slashed is like PSTD leaving a huge ugly irreversible memory.

The wife's story sounds fishy to me, even if she was the culprit, it's Thailand and she will likely get away with it. RIP to the bloke.

Legally she is not wife yet.....She is only living with him and in technical term it is mistress...that is the cue

I understood a mistress was a woman who was not the wife of a married man but who had a sexual relationship with him.

So a woman is always a mistress if she is not married to the man even if they are partners, girlfriends, etc ?

According to Wikipedia, the following is true and so it looks a bit suspicious as it is an unusual way to commit suicide, not impossible of course but it does raise suspicion.

"Worldwide, three suicide methods predominate with the pattern varying in different countries. These are hanging, poisoning by pesticides, and firearms.[2]"

An unusual way to commit suicide though not impossible but NOT an unusual way to murder. I wonder if he was alive when she left to 'take a relative to school'
