I can't seem to get beyond the captcha on my wife's US B2 10 year multiple entry visa application. It either tells me the code is in error, it's not! Or I seem to get thru but then get routed to the US state dept.visa FAQ page. Over and over and over again.

If anyone know the US Embassy help desk phone number for Thais (not the American citizen emergency number) can you kindly post it here? TY

Yep just called the number  UT only got options to  recorded info English and Thai.

022054000.

Is this the same number referred to in the appreciative help received for stepson visa?

And renewing a 10 year B2 tourist visa... does not require an interview at the Consulate in Bkk? That almost sounds to good to be true. What about the criminal background check?

No interview needed

My wife's passport is out to get her visa in it now

She got what was called a Visa Interveiw  Waiver

She didn't apply for that

In the booking process it just comes up instead of the ability to book an appointment

My wife has travelled in and out of the US probably 30x in 10 years, maybe more

So maybe they look at her history on her past visa as a criteria to waive the interview??

VFS Global are a dire monopolistic organisation who are no doubt rubbing their hands with glee at all the rejections and re-applications they can cash in on. The "VIP" service is an absolute joke and the staff do not understand the requirements different countries ask for. I feel so sorry for any Thai national who has to deal with them.

Could be worse. They may have to deal with Thai Immigration. May as well roll a dice to determine the outcome of what you need.
