Great! . The U.K. welcomed almost 2.3 million and expecting 35.1 million for the whole of 2023. So what? These are near normal figures so what is so newsworthy?

On a more serious note, I hope that stats are being kept somewhere for posterity, otherwise there will only be guesstimates of the true figures when it ends, hopefully, in the next few years.
