No...no. this is totally wrong for the Thai tourism industry. Saudis bring lots of money for the Thai tourism industry. Just let them do what they like and enjoy everything freely without any hindrance as they are the pay master. The sour relationship between Thailand and Saudi has recently been made sweet. Don't make it sour again. Let the Saudi do what they like in Thailand. 🤣

That can’t be right. Saudis are the rich non-drinking Muslims the Thai government want in the country.

Or as was heard in a Southall (an area of West London with a very large South Asian population) court a number of years ago - "my client cannot be guilty of drunk driving, he is a Muslim and does not drink alcohol, the breath test and blood tests must be wrong".

In other news JamesR who lives about five miles from Patong beach while on the way to Makro to do his weekly shopping observed the following.

A motorcycle traveling in front of him had to make a sudden swerve in order to avoid a motorcycle that had pulled out of a side road and nearly collided with him, it was carrying a couple with a child.

A minute later he observed motorcycles going through red lights at a busy crossroads.

As he was passing a U-turn area on the highway (a dual carriageway) a car turned in front of him causing him to react by moving immediately to the other lane in order to avoid a collision, he could do this safely as he had already checked his mirrors as he always does when approaching such U-turn areas.

Two minutes later an ambulance overtook him at speed, he later saw a person laid out on the road next to a downed motorcycle being attended to by medics. The person was not moving.

He was then overtaken on the inside by a farang on a big bastd motorbike going at speed, he thought to himself that noble head will not last too long.

It was reported that most of the above people involved were unlikely to be drunk as it was 11 am.

It was also reported the local police have renamed the motorcycle to the mo-ron-cycle as you have to be one to ride one in Phuket.

Perish the thought that these cretins would abuse their sacred religion... Oh, wait... that's only when they are in their OWN country, isn't it!

That one time you drinking and did something dumb.

Feels like a fun idea at the time.

Next day's hindsight, not so much.  🤦‍♂️

One time? You are dreaming! The reason these cretins lovely people come to Thailand is so they can do what they want when their god is supposedly blind to their transgressions.

"Abdullah refused help and tried to stay out at sea treading water"... Should have done the world a favour and left him treading water. It will be interesting to see just what he is charged with and the punishment meted out to one of the favoured clique as opposed to a filthy farang.

Jeez, give the guy a break. He didn't make the rules of the country he comes from, so how do you know he's a hypocrite? There's plenty of Saudis who drink when they're abroad, AND when they're in their own country.

Yeah, stealing the jetski was pretty stupid, but can't blame the guy for cutting loose a bit on holiday.

To quote another holy book:

John 8:7 " He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

I've been to parties in Saudi that take some beating, where anything is available.

You're not so naive to think that prohibition stopped anything are you? Didn't work so well for the Americans did it?

If they're so inclined Saudis can, and will, do whatever they want in their own country too!😆😆

Amphetamine use is rife, hashish is very popular, and kaat in the south too

Man has been getting high for thousands of years. People in Saudi ain't no different ..

True, they will hit the bottle pretty much anywhere they know the Mullahs aren't watching. And yet they will go through the waste from airlines for any trace of alcohol - just of few drops left in one of those miniatures was enough, the airline I worked  for quite a few years back got slapped with a 5k fine for that on more than one occasion.

I quite often fly through Bahrain on my way to Thailand and there's a Saudi colleague of mine who's often on the same flight out of Saudi on his way to Turkey or Morocco.

Spent many pleasurable hours sharing a pint in the lounge with him. It's always funny watching the speed be exits the plane at to get to the lounge!

Free beer... 🍺🍺🍺🍺!!!
