However, the real issue here is the attitude the Thais are taking towards foreigners. It’s totally deplorable. They should be vaccinating people based on need. Follow the same rules all developed countries have followed irrespective of nationality. I would urge all foreigners to complain to their Embassey and ask why are they not putting greater pressure on the Thai authorises to take care of foreigners.  I know it will feel like a waste of time. But an email takes 5 minutes and who knows …

They are "vaccinating people based on need".

That's exactly what they're doing, except that their idea of whose "need" is greater differs from yours.

That's why foreign tourists and Thai bar staff in Phuket, regardless of age or medical condition, have been fully vaccinated before Thais and foreigners in the provinces with medical conditions aged over 60 have even had their first dose - and before some medical staff in the provinces have been fully vaccinated so the hospitals have had to close.

That's why Thais and foreigners in Bangkok will be vaccinated before Thais and foreigners in the provinces.

It's "deplorable", but not for the reasons you're claiming which are just wrong.

What I find mildly amusing in all this is the self-interest of so many commenting here, particularly those in Phuket who were previously whingeing the most about being discriminated against but who have now been vaccinated and so lost interest in the idea of any equality in distribution for either Thais or foreigners elsewhere in Thailand.

The vaccine rollout and current Covid management, if it can be called that, is appalling and inexcusable, but it's appalling for everyone here - except a very few -not just expats.
