There is little indication that there has been a marked reduction because there is no context for the number that is being touted as an achievement. And as for biodegradable plastics they are mostly a con because all that happens is the plastic breaks down into microscopic pieces but does not disappear. Indeed to is already being found in human fetal bloodstream not to mention the remotest parts of the globe. So frankly this self congratulatory press release is little more than the agencies pleasuring themselves in public.

Latest buying items at 7/11 and getting charged 2 THB for a plastic bag, but …. Getting a 2 THB discount for the plastic bag as well. There is a reduction, just not how you think.

Please note that reducing anything by 100%, as the article states in several places as a goal, means nothing is left. I highly doubt there will be 0 plastic anytime soon. Perhaps your source needs to clarify their math...or take a refresher class...
