Any thoughts about punishing the people who employed them? This is a case of turning a blind eye to the wealthy business owners. Then when people notice and complain, blame the poor sod in 300 baht a day and talk tough. Idiots!

Oh my god, it would be deafening.  The media would be grilling the PM and the employment minister and asking why they have used such language. Support groups and human rights groups will be “condemning” the actions of the government. EU lawyers will be getting ready for lots of referred and appealed cases. Basically, the governments wouldn’t dare do anything to stop it. Just not worth the hassle.

"Furthermore, employers who are found to have hired such migrant workers will also be fined up to 100,000 baht for violating the 2017 law that regulates the management of foreign workers.

“If the migrants repeat the offence, their employers will face up to a year in jail, a fine of up to 200,000 baht per migrant, or both. They will also be liable to a three-year suspension from employing migrant workers.”

But they will get a discount off the 200k thb the put in brown envelopes each month? Or only businesses raided that didn’t provide an envelope?
