Self defence... 😂

Yes, no doubt the tour guide was worried the dastardly Chinese tourist putting their arm out was going to attack her in some evil Kung-Fu move.

These types of incidents could start to get out of hand for the RTP. There is a danger that the Police will have to deal with an issue which is deep rooted in Thai society towards foreigners and tourists. If the authorities are serious about cleaning up these problems then they need to start with education in schools.

Impossible to do, as Teachers are also a major issue being similar to other Thai public service organisations. Like many teachers who aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues in the west, they pass on their personal beliefs to their students.

Agreed that it’s hard to eradicate when much of society has the same attitudes. In reality it would take prolonged and consistent change. We are talking 50+ years.

Well I won’t see that happening in my lifetime then, and majority of Thai motorcycle riders and their passengers won’t either.

Why only six months?? She should be banned from working with tourists forever. This was clearly a deliberate unprovoked attack over a trivial matter - this woman is nuts and as such should never be allowed to work with tourists. Who knows how many more she attacked which didn't go public.

Phuket is a haven for scams and belligerent behavior.  I went there once in 2017 and never again.
This attacker should have her tourism license banned for life, 6 months is a slap on the wrist.

Someone who attacks customers with a knife to avoid a refund should end up in jail and banned from license for life. Do the police really believe it will never happen again? That woman is mad.

She said self defense maybe it was.

Perhaps the tour guide's also a  part-time fortune teller, and used her astute power to read the Chinese tourist's mind - the tourist was thinking she could happy strangle the tour guide for refusing to refund their money.
The thick plottens.
