Do the maths Leah - Europeans spend MORE PER DAY during their average 13 day stays than Americans due over their 15 days, and no surprise Americans stay longer - they've travelled much further and therefore paid more for flights so stay longer for better value for money.

Your headline statement isn't entirely wrong, but it gives a deceptive picture.  Europeans spend the most each day of their stay, especially in the local economy rather than just within the hotels.

I love these kinds of flawed analysis 😂. However it wouldn’t be just the author of this article who would argue this. Take your average Thai shop keeper and they would argue the same thing. Americans spend more as 96,269 is a bigger number than 90,038. The overall number is bigger. The problems come from the fact that government policy makers would base policies on such analysis.

Try having a conversation relating to operating profit of the shops they run. That one can get you banging your head against a brick wall 😂😂

True.  English, tighter than ducks nether regions on a frosty morning, and proud of it.  🤣

As always, the numbers are pretty meaningless without a breakdown. For example - spending more on hotels means nothing if that spend goes into the pockets of the multinationals who will do everything they can to move the profits out of the country to somewhere where they will pay less tax on it.

If they were counting my 1st trip in 2003 I would have definitely upped the average of Americans

I spent like I was dying in a month and didn't want to leave any behind 5555
