200 AQI in Thailand is not a high level. A Chiang Mai level above 400 AQI is a very common value and it is always worse than Bangkok so i have no idea why Bangkok is ranked 3rd. It's the same in Khon kean when burning rice fields. Screenshot of today air pollution from https://aqicn.org/

What, this morning? Because of favorable winds blowing over the usual top 10? And how many cities were checked? 

“Melbourne is the third coldest city in the world” - this is probably true too, at midnight a couple of times a year in August. Doesn’t make it true as a general statement though.

There're dozens more polluted cities across China, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and those contain serious industrial pollutants.

IQAir is near real-time measurement using crowd sourced data (anyone with a registered air quality monitor can contribute data)... so the values change continuously. Regardless, Bangkok air (as is CM, during certain times) is and always will be terrible until something gets done about open burning and urban polluters (vehicles burning poor quality fuel, etc.). All I have to do is look out side my window in the morning to determine how bad the air is on any given day in Bangkok

According to aqicn.org (based in Beijing), PM2.5 in Bangkok did reach over 200 ("very unhealthy") at certain times during this past week, including last night: https://aqicn.org/city/bangkok/m/

Since things are relative, here's the "big picture" of PM2.5 in Asia right now. China is blanketed with readings of 100-200, as is India. The best readings come out of Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Vietnam.
