waste of a life, might had been prevented, l have witnessed many crazy driving by tourist on big bike, if they want to kill themselves by overtaking on both sides and blind bend very fast, ok, but when it, in dangerous others, not ok. Personally the rental shop shouldnt be allowed to hire out to people with no license or experience. When the Chinese come it will be even more dangerous. condolences to his family

Just blending in with the locals when it comes to dangerous driving. I  agree that rental shops should be checking people's licences before renting out, but in this case I am not sure it was a rental - red plates (brand new) and appears to have been kitted out for touring

Is there some reason in particular why the brand (I assume that's what "ducati" is) of the motorbike is mentioned here?  Are they notoriously unreliable or something?

Could be to highlight thar frequency of tourists renting bikes like that, that they aren't really qualified to ride

Probably nothing intentional, but Ducati as a brand is generally very performance oriented - definitely not beginners or inexperienced riders bikes.
