Children are not a pension plan. Of course there is a limit - someone who is too old to work themselves can't keep taking care of their parents. And that's my entire point. There is zero planning for the future. Completely irresponsible and selfish IMO. -

Untrue. Plenty of cultures like Vikings and Japanese used to leave their old in forests/mountains to die. Not that I'm advocating that, nor am I advocating what happened here. I'm just saying it's unnatural to expect children to care for their parents for tens of years - maybe in the past when people lived until 70-80 this was feasible, but 100? Someone who's 70-80 themselves and can't work can't take care of someone who's 100. In developed countries this was at least partially solved by social security and pension plans, so parents do not become a burden on their kids, but in Thailand social security is next to nothing and most people do not save for anything, including pension. -

So she placed her stall right next to a soccer match - where the likelihood of an errant ball reaching her is high - without any sort of guard or anything preventing it from landing in the pan? How is this the fault of whoever kicked the ball, or the match organizers who didn't sanction her stall? -

The accused is subject to due process of the law. The allegations are unproven. The governor has stated very clearly " Should the accusations against him be substantiated, the officer will face dismissal." It is media saying there is a transfer. You are predicting that the accused will be transferred once the process concludes, but the governor has stated that the man will be dismissed if guilty. What more do you want? The governor cannot summarily convict. -
