I find this headline odd given the fixation Thai media has with identifying and picking out nationality. This man isn’t Californian, surely he’s “Chinese”? A “Foreigner”? A Migrant worker? A violent Asian?  Or is it only Thailand that has “Foreigners” causing problems? At least most Foreigners in Thailand don’t go on mass shooting trips!     
 

Perhaps it’s the fact this this is a story from The Straits Times in Singapore, which is a far more progressive country and less fixated on banging the nationalistic drum?
