Thaiger Talk Quiz #138 - Food in Northern Thailand

Recommended Posts

2/5.

I knew two, but living in Isaan consulted the wife on the other 3.
For me, it was a toss up of two possible answers from the remaining 3 questions.
The wife stated my guesses were wrong, so I went with hers.

She got all 3 wrong, 2 of mine would have been correct.
Her excuse was she didn't understand the questions, which is the Thai way of keeping face, when they actually didn't know!   😢

If I put up my score, you know who will have a field day.

Quite rightly so.

An abysmal 2.

Go on M.E. put the boot in,

Only just though a miserly 3, but still deserves a......

3/5 as I had to go with what I know contrary to two North answers using best judgment. I really think the curry one is not true or correct and then the other should be stated as North East Thailand if the answer is going to be what it is.

Well I'll eat my hat, I only managed to scored 2.

Thanks BigHewer for your tireless efforts to keep us all entertained. Very much appreciated.

Don't forget to mention @Faraday and @Rookiescot

Yes agree. I think 2 and 5 not true.

Thank you and my apologies, I do appreciate the disputes and feedback. We're at the stage now where most of the quizzes being played are the older ones previously posted. The four days each quiz is "live" are a good chance to iron out any problems if there are any.

Q2 - I'm sticking to my guns here, but I have changed one of the incorrect answers. The answer remains the same. No doubt whatsoever now.

Q5 - Good point, especially considering a couple of popular dishes. I have subbed out the correct answer for another and kept the three incorrect answers the same. Also changed one word in the question. Should be no issues now.

Thanks again,

BH

You see?

This is how it happens that Marble Eye beats us. Its a travesty. Its an injustice. Its abhorrent to the laws of nature.

I shall be contacting my lawyers in the morning.

Expect a letter from Soo, Kriple and Sneer. And you better bloody read it because those guys dont mess around.

I don't know how I scored this  Score: 4

I always thought that northern meat dishes would be spicier because of the poor quality meat used or rotten fish, and the spice was needed to cover up. Looks like I am wrong.  The weirdest thing about people I know from Udon and Ubon, particularly males is that they love oysters. My friends can slurp them down and I am going, whoa don't,  it's hot and you don't know if they have gone bad. The way they eat mussels too is crazy.
