"They said Thai people just didn’t want maintenance, kitchen, and food and beverage jobs"

This is just sad and unbelievable to this boomer.  I worked all these jobs plus others from the age of 16 - 24 years old.  All good jobs to gain experience...yes they do not pay the best, but beggars cannot be choosers.

Thai parents need to kick their kids out of the house and tell them to get a job and a life IMO

It's amazing that once the floodgates are open to the Chinese that suddenly Thailand is considering allowing foreign tour leaders. How short the memory of the Thai govt when the majority of Chinese tourists were 'zero dollar tourists' with the money going to Chinese airlines, tour operators, hotels, etc etc including tourist guides.

It is difficult to see how allowing foreign tour guides will put money into the Thai economy.

I think you have to look at these kid's schedules, if they are in school, they simply don't have time in Thailand

School is all consuming in Thailand, most going until 4pm or later

There's plenty of able bodied women in Pattaya and Phuket to fill these jobs if they simply switched careers if you know what I mean.

A little sexist isn’t it. Or is it only women who can work on reception, cook food, serve on tables and clean rooms! 😉
