Why is there no mention of all the prostitutes, drug dealers and bars?  They probably attract more people to the beach than the banana boats and jet ski scammers.

From what I've heard about TikTok, I get the impression there's a lot of soft-porn posted on there.
Were there a lot of Pattaya 'visitors' posting such videos on there, in order for it to 'rank' so highly by the wrankers I wonder?

HaHaha,  By what measure?  Its one of the worst by almost all measures, facilities,  quality of sand and especially water, availability of high quality shade and seating, I guess that their idea of 'popularity' is not the same as anyone with an IQ over 70 . Who comes up with this palpable nonsense?

The beach is great, gets a bit messy after a busy weekend but it gets mostly cleaned. The main litter problem is fag ends.At night it looks great lit up,the cables are all buried, lots of families and people walking and jogging. The parasols and beach loungers look vary tatty and they do occupy the best bit of beach underneath the trees, they could be trimmed. They should limit the hookers hours say 22:00 to 04:00 but then they would have to admit there are prostitute's in pattaya.

You clearly have never seen a nice beach, the beach is not great by any measure. You even say that yourself after your first statement  At best its average, at worst a sxxx hole.   Of course it looks good at night, because its dark.

Although at night wouldn't the luminescent, used, glowing condoms 'stick out like a sore thumb', so-to-speak?

Just as an aside in this debate; if you want to see a 'moderately nice beach' anywhere in this part of Thailand, you will find it at Mae Ram Phueng Beach, just East of Rayong.

How the days and weeks pass so quickly. Seems like it was only the 1st January a few days ago and here we are, it’s already April 1st.

I can't but agree with that.
I used to work for a company renting out houses to tourists in that area. 'Pristine and unspoilt' was how the beach was described fifteen years ago.

Beach art. And there would be someone, somewhere, dumb enough to buy the NFT.

Not sure on the meaning of the TLA in this context.
Non-Functioning T*st*cles? Numerous Floating T*rds?

Makes sense, in same bay as Koh Samet, which was the clearest, bluest water I have ever experienced in Thailand

If it wasn't great by any measure, it wouldn't be the #2 most mentioned beach in the world. Your insistence that it is a sh** hole is a dated and lame trope that doesn't match with reality.

Its not like there ain't beautiful women and LB Tiktokers descending on the beaches in Rio to spread on the socials either.

Sorry @socal  I’ve been to plenty of Thai beaches, European Beach’s and Caribbean beaches. Pattaya beach wouldn’t make my top 50. Joking apart and not overdoing it with the level of criticism about the beach, it ain’t nothing to write home about. Even Jomtien or Patong beach’s are better and they are average.

As far as beach destinations, I have been to Croatia , Mexico and Jamaica.

Something to consider. These social media uses probably aren't differentiating between Jomtien, Wong amat and Pattaya beach. They are all beaches of Pattaya. So it is more of an average of all of these beaches.

I always get a kick out ppl talking up Jomtien. Its right beside Pattaya beach. There's huge hotels and condos in front of Jomtien too. Its not 2 hours away. If Pattaya beach is so sh** then so is Jomtien.

But anyway, if its an average of all these beaches, is it still so ridiculous that it got#2?

I'm just surprised Pattaya gets that many views on Tik Tok, given the age demographic for Tik Tok

I've had a few accounts about Pattaya come across my Tik Tok but it's always nightlife related

Never saw the actual beach posted on Tik Tok once

Wasn't there some sand in a condom in one of those nightlife videos - aka an 'organ-grinder'.

My favourite beach of all time was in southern Goa.One end was hippies living in caves, couple of restaurants bars in the middle. The guest houses all had rooms close to the beach.Eat fresh fish straight from the sea.One morning the sea was like a mirror while a pod of dolphins swam across the bay, heavenly.

Saw some pictures last year it was a solid mass of sun loungers taking up every available space big hotels right up to the beach, hell.

Pattaya beach is the only beach I know that as actually improved over the years.Do you know any other beach anywhere that can say that.

Even the hookers are multinational.

That is a good point about improvement. Pattaya beach will never appear in my 'top 20' but I have to give credit to the authorities for the extensive improvements that have been made in Pattaya and Jomtien.

The mere fact this survey was published by TikTok, a Chinese-controlled entity without universal credibility, should see it sent to the trash can.

Popularity measured how, from photos?  Because #20 Whitehaven beach in Qld's Whitsunday Islands is without peer in quality as a beach, but hardly anyone can get there except by boat.  It's very remote from any major city.

As for #1, Bondi beach is the best known beach in Australia and visited by locals and tourists alike in their droves.  It's popular due to being accessible.  Same as Pattaya.  Nothing to do with quality of sand or water.
