This broad  plays up that she is Thai French on her profiles. That's probably why they reported it like that.

We'll never agree on it but its just a curiosity where ppl are from

I think you are right that we won’t agree on it @socal. However, I do accept that for some people, knowing the nationality is curiosity. When telling a story, I will sometimes add the detail such as “ I was speaking to this guy, think he was American”….

However, please bear with me….The problem I have is when it is a constant divisive highlighting of the issue reported as being Thai or Non-Thai/Foreigner by Thai media. You have people living in Thailand, who have worked there for 20+ years. Have a family and brought up children and retired. When they have an accident, the manner and tone of reporting “A Frenchman man was ….” Indicates to many locals that this is some drunken, reckless 10 day holiday lout who ruined some upstanding Thai persons day.

I think the divisive impact and the fuelling of nationalistic attitudes, along with the negative connotations many Thais associate with foreigners (Farang!) is more damaging than the value of curiosity. You don’t see such reporting in progressive and inclusive countries unless it’s central to the story.

I would also assert that this style of reporting is a symptom of a much larger attitude by Thais regarding the outside world. It’s driven by the inward looking self-centred mentality that damages so many aspects of life perpetuates by successive military governments. All I’m saying, is that if Thailand wants to progress, then it needs to tackle the root cause of these issues, namely education. When Thais start to see their real place in the world and start to think critically and learn to innovate in order to develop their country, then they won’t behave like this. The constant need to focus on the “Thai Non-Thai” attitude will fade away.

Finally (long post I know!). Thailand is an aging society. At some point it will have a choice. Stagnate, or develop. If it wishes to develop then it will have to allow more professional foreigners in to the country. Such attitudes ingrained in to many Thais will get in the way. Just look at the uproar recently when the government; who realises this problem that lies ahead, tried to offer a minuscule 1 Rai of land as part of a long term visa. All of this is wrapped up in the same nationalistic nonsense.

I asked her about it on Twitter. Her reply  😁:

"You just being dumb to not even look on full vdo i have and you protecting a creeper i hope you happy about that. In pattaya thailand where the acident happend is wel know for having tourist harrasing local women as they think all women is a hooker. Educate yourself first"

And there she goes with the "Pattaya is full of creeps" logic. Lady- *you're* in Pattaya too, creep.

Funny enough she is there selling her soul by doing those ridiculous live streams. Not so different than the hookers there actually - they're both selling a part of themselves for money.

P.S. Just a quick look at her Twitch profile and one of the first videos popping up is titled "your fav loud streamer in Pattaya". And now we know what happened. Loud.

Life is to be enjoyed in the moment, not recorded.  Like smoking cigarettes, filming and phoning should only be allowed in restricted areas away from the general public.  The Internet is ruining young peoples lives.

Best comment I've read on this site in a long time.

All these Youtubers and vloggers and livestreatmers are ruining Thailand.

Bingo. Most of her watcher are males gawking at her as she lives her life online 4 hours at a time on these streams. And they make comments in real time that show up on the screen. And if you want to jump the que to comment, you have to pay. If that aint creepy what is..

Live streaming can be lucrative as can monetization of a youtube presence. I understand that the top end is several million USD per annum. In the comments, what I see is a generational divide. People under age 30 subscribe to  live vloggers. Older folks do not. Live streaming is alien to the age 50+ group. I am not justifying her activity, just putting it in context. Not a fan of people like her either.

I can understand live streaming for gamers, e-sports, etc. Hell, I can even sort of understand onlyfans and other interactive porn - but live streaming some girl just walking around town or doing nothing (other than annoying people) at the pool and simps actually paying for that is beyond generational divide - there's something wrong with these people.

Does this guy not know how Thai Friendly, Soi 6 or beach road work? Jesus... I am a 52 year old man. I workout daily, have most of my hair and teeth and feel very confident with my shirt off in front of strangers. But I don't expect every woman to be interested. Heck I don't expect any of them to be interested. I am happy to pay. I don't expect a discount. I just hope keeping myself well groomed and in great shape lets me avoid any fat, gross, really old guy additional fees and charges.

Chase a lady... I am too lazy to walk across the street to even try to meet a lady. Where does this awful, embarrassing, entitled behavior come from?

Cambodia cracked down on ladies selling things via live streaming.  They were becoming more and more provocative.  I think their viewers were becoming mostly men who had no interest in the clothing being sold.  Not that I would know.   lol

Some men feel the need to chase to self validate themselves. They are insecure. Most of the time , they are making asses of themselves. And women get creeped out. But if you do it enough times , eventually there will be a taker. And she'll probably be drunk. And she might feel taken advantage of later.
