Health officials in South Korea confirmed that a Korean national died from a disease known as “brain-eating amoeba.” He had not long returned from Thailand. Amoeba only live mostly in stagnant fresh water ponds. It is rarely seen in running water like river or waterfalls as it is not a great swimmer
