Phuket is getting ready for the annual road safety campaign known as ‘Seven Days of Danger.’ The campaign will be held around the New Year from December 29 to January 4.  Phuket Vice Governor Anupap Rodkwan chaired a meeting about the campaign at Phuket Provincial Hall yesterday.  Officials will use various strategies to improve road safety during the campaign. These annual campaigns make me laugh. What about the other 258 days of the year? Most years, the New Year period turns out to be the safest because fewer people are travelling apart from two days when they are gridlocked in traffic. Perhaps that’s why the government do it. They can then claim their impressive actions worked. I’m sure there will be the usual 50-60 deaths a day. Utterly shameful.

Hilarious . Most Thai drivers think the road markings are there to make the roads look nice. Those bright yellow box’s on each intersection brighten up the black tarmac
