Toyota has debuted, but not debuted, an electric version of its popular Hilux pick-up in Thailand. Little is known about the specs, with Toyota Thailand glossing over battery size and power output details in a launch that was, to say the least, low key. The tone of this article is wonderfully pitched. Toyota along with Honda etc are so far behind the rest of the world in launching EVs that they will rapidly go into decline as the market moves away from ICE on the short term. Toyota will become a classic case study in how not to meet consumer demands. Their glacial pace of change and the over-intellectualised preference for hydrogen instead of electricity is leading them into a bleak future.
