Recommended Posts

A new panel has been created to investigate 15 senior police officers, investigators, and public prosecutors, accused of mishandling the hit-and-run case against Red Bull heir, Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya. Among those being investigated are 2 police generals and 2 senior police officers. The Bangkok Post reports that all members of the National Anti-Corruption Commission will sit on the newly-created panel. Vorayuth is wanted for a 2012 hit-and-run case in which a Bangkok policeman lost his life. The Red Bull heir managed to evade justice and somehow fled the country. Due to the high-profile nature of the case, the 9 NACC […]

Disgraceful at all levels.  Another example of how extremely wealthy people can be above the law and avoid justice in Thailand. Drugs/Alcohol/Murder this has all the elements of a movie except this is unfortunately real.  How this young man can live with himself knowing what he has done is unforgivable. Innocent until proven guilty as they say except he will now never see inside of a court room and continue with his privileged lifestyle supported by family and friends.

Hands up all those who think this will lead anywhere close to getting this rich runaway ba*tard behind bars. It is merely an exercise in looking up their own essential orifices & hoping to find the sun. It ain't going to discover anything.

Another panel ? 555

You mean more brown envelopes to be passed around, then no decision made.

Then it will be announced that another panel is to be set up and more brown envelopes can be passed around.

Only in Thailand, 555

many governments other than thai government are also complicit. How does he get in and out of these countries? simple "privileged" will not be brought to justice. If you think he will, you have not been in thailand long enough!

'A new panel'   It might as well be an ongoing car repair saga.
New paint job to gloss over the old chipped story. Some body-filler to hide the dents and scrapes in the same story.
Now a new panel to replace the damaged one when the lies affected the non-stick family, thus needing replacing completely.

I bet the next thing will be another Teflon coating.

who will investigate this panel?

You beat me to the exact thought I was thinking to post. But on the other hand they should start to run out of qualified panel members just about when the statute of limitations is up.

Maybe you're right and I am just being silly. If you can nod your head either left side to right and right side to left or up and down to what the required directive is then you pass.

More to the point with his family owning the majority share in Red Bull, and "Boss" apparently having been spotted over the years at some F1 events, then the entire company must be considered as complicit in shielding him from justice in my opinion.

A panel?   Isn't a committee much more effective?

I believe the panel has been set up to implement a draft committee, before a final committee is established. Then the committee can make non-binding recommendations.

Passports are easy to buy.  It is status symbol for the very rich to have multiple passports.

Yes, a totally corrupt situation and he won’t give it a second thought. The class culture that’s ingrained will allow him to justify his actions to himself and he will sleep soundly.
