American and Chinese nationals have made the most applications for Thailand’s 10 year Long Term Resident (LTR) visa since its launch in September, according to the secretary-general of the Board of Investment (BOI) Narit Therdstreerakul. So with this application rate the goal of 1 million visas issued in five years will only be missed by 97%, even if every single application were approved

The data doesn’t lie. It’s a total flop. It’s not the idea that’s wrong, it’s the implementation that’s wrong. I’ll check back in 20 years and see how it’s going.
