How much plastic surgery can foil this?

Good question. I think it would have to be a considerable amount. Modern FR systems take multiple 3D points of reference on the face and correlate them to each other to produce a unique “fingerprint” or what’s termed “embedding”. This is far from a simple detection of the width of the eyes or tip of nose to top of lip measurement. Many of the algorithms used will be subject to controlled IP and hence difficult to answer your question.

Because facial recognition has to accommodate things like aging and surgery, it's nothing much to worry oneself over. How long has it been employed at airports? But how many people cross with a relatives passport, picked up by accident?

Agreed. It’s all a load of nonsense and nothing more than a modern tool. People who fear such technology either know they have something to fear, or still won’t have a smart phone because “They are watching me”!

But it would be simple to fool: just blacken your face ;-)

By the accident of fingerprints taken? Soon there should be no chance, to use someone elses biometric passport any longer. Without that the immigration is in on it.

With shutting down the IT system for the entry or exit time
