Did anyone other than Thai tourism believe that everything would instantly return to pre covid?

Economies have been devastated not only by Covid for some 2 years, but the Uk/Russia war is hurting the world on top of it with a lot of countries going into recession.

Everyday there are thousands being thrown out of work overnight and those are just the ones we hear about.  A lot of industries are shutting up shop, (seems new building is a major concern in a lot of countries) the tourism industry is one of the first to hurt when recession hits and one of the last to return.

Russians maybe have a separate basic motivation of wanting to see 2024 and beyond.

If you are fantasying about how to pay the electrical bill with your (hope I win) lottery winnings, holidays in Thailand just aren't on your survival list.

Think I will stay up till midnight this New Year's Eve just to say good riddance to this Ultra Crappy year, 2022.
