A thief stole a gold necklace worth about 150,000 baht from a shop near a police station in Chiang Rai and then escaped arrest by embarking on a death-defying swim across a snake-infested river to Myanmar. Seriously? Snake infested river? Who writes this malarkey? More apt to have your weenie bitten by a fish or turtle rather than ever seeing one single snake. But biggest chance is you might getting a floating chocolate colored bar in your mouth just let loose from some building there. Let's stop the immaginatiuve writing here. I have been to Mai Sai oodles of times and know this is not true. Snakes are everywhere, but not like that unless the writer is talking about infested with thieves.
