40 million or 40 billion? 40 million is chump change in the scheme of things while 40 billion can buy some pretty nice engineless submarines.

The Govt is broke and trying to short and cover everything until the baht rolls in from tourism.

Noticed lately there are plenty of new notes coming out of the ATM so guess the printers have been getting lots of OT.

("Oh that was only 1 million old baht, I thought it said 1 billion baht to be destroyed of retired notes withdrawn from circulation" Solly.)

Yanks have been doing it for years.

As of December 31, 2020, there was $2,040.7 billion in circulation, totaling 50.3 billion notes in volume.

Spread that around the world and you create your own natural shortage of currency.

"US Federal Reserve nightmare", the world goes digital o'nite and all that physical money, they have to cover every single dollar in a digital capacity.

Bankruptcy springs to mind.

Apologises off track somewhat.

I can feel a defamation case coming soon. “Shame the government”?  How do you bring shame on a shameless bunch like this lot in charge. They kicked out a democratically elected government. Ripped up the constitution which had been signed off by those we can not mention and imposed martial law and promoted their mates in to high office. If they aren’t ashamed of that, then owing 40 million baht isn’t going to cause even mild embarrassment.
