Tourism is ramping up in Thailand. Bangkok’s primary airport and the main international hub of Thailand, Suvarnabhumi Airport, reported 57,000 international travellers arriving on Thursday. That number is inching shockingly close to 60,000 people a day that was arriving each day before the Covid-19 pandemic. The National reported that 25 international flights arrived, with 49,000 out of the 57,000 total passengers being foreigners. Even with the Flightstats figure of 266 arrivals, that still makes for the kind of load factors that airline executives have wet dreams about. Methinks that someone is telling porkies.

I guess we are all going to have to put up with these kind of stories for the next 2 years. A similar thing to the daily reported Covid cases which thankfully now seem to have stopped, almost!

So Thailand was a prime destination for tourism before Covid just as many places including the U.K. and France were. Now Covid restrictions have been lifted people want to return on holiday to these destinations. Wow, what a shock!
