Absent from the Thailand’s northern forests for more than twenty years, a pair of great hornbills have been released into Lampang Chae Son National Park. The release was described by the Zoological Park Organisation (ZPO) director Attaporn Srihayrun as only the first batch of birds that the organisation plans to return to the wild. It would be a thing of a lifetime if I actually saw this great bird flying. I think the Thai are going to hunt and capture them so they need to have a huge prison sentence if they do.
