Two gamblers filed complaints to police saying that they were attacked at a casino in Bangkok run by a Chinese man. One of the gamblers reckons Bangkok has more than 100 gambling dens in the city despite gambling being illegal in Thailand, and that police insist there are zero casinos in the city. The founder of the non-profit organisation Saimai Survives (สายไหมต้องรอด), Ekkapop Luengprasert, took a male friend and a transwoman gambler to Krok Kram Police Station in Bangkok to file complaints against the gambling den on Ram Indra Road. So the Police have someone that has the knowledge of locations of 100 illegal casinos in Bangkok and the Police do??.............nothing.

They already know about most of them, but probably paid to "not know".

I dont know why everyone is playing dumb on this topic. We already know how things like this work in Thailand.

Do I need to explain what is really happening to those at the back?

Theres a limited/controllable amount of gambling.

Police get a slice for regulating it.

No one really cares enough to do anything about it because its out-of-sight and doesnt cause many problems.

A gambling den in Thailand... and in Bangkok to boot... and run by the Chinese mafia. NEVER! This is a fictitious story at best, and more likely one made up for a slow news day. I am sure that if there was any proof of its existence the police would have been down on it like a ton of bricks.

I'm sorry, I realise sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but how can the police NOT act, even if the complaints are brought by people attending and acting illegally. Is there no such thing as a high-ranking, honest police officer who is prepared to start stepping on toes? Maybe it is too hard to stumble over the pile of brown envelopes scattered on the floor.

Oh, and yes, I HAVE been to a casino in Bangkok and was told not to worry about police raiding the place because they had been paid off (won a couple of hundred baht, too!).

As long as can make money, then these gamblers will keep quite and happy. When money is lost then started making noise like the chicken that has just laid the egg. Why in the first place going to vice dents for gambling?
