Phuket SHA+ Hotel Recommendation

I wonder what are the recommendation for a SHA+ hotel to base in for the 1st 14 days arrival in Phuket? Obviously due to the pandemic, everything may have changed and past locations may be a desolate wasteland now (exaggeration).

I lived on Phuket, albeit for only 6 months, way back.  Kamala Beach has a large expat community therefore most businesses are open, struggling perhaps, but not quite a desolate wasteland as described by recent visitors to other parts.

SunPrime Resort is superb and if thats a bit exxy, Novotel is about half the price though you'd likely need to hire a scooter to get about.
