Thailand’s PM Prayut Chan-o-cha has yesterday set a goal for the northeastern Nong Bua Lamphu province, where the horrific October 6 massacre happened, to become “drug free” within 30 days. A government spokesperson told the Associated Press that Prayut had ordered relevant agencies to implement measures related to drug abuse and trading. Too bad posturing isn't an income-generating situation because Thai politicians would be up to their armpits in baht if it were.

On the bright side of this hopeless goal the government has recognized the importance of rehabilitation and helping drug users as opposed to their long running farce of punishing them.
