Predictable knee-jerk reactions to an incident that's only the tiniest part of a much bigger problem (and one which is actually structural as opposed to a mass killing).

Any presumptions that instances like this might become rampant is contradicted by statistics as in ref. 1 (it links to an analysis of mass killings in the USA since 2006, and shows that despite an increased media focus the number of mass killings & the number casualties has remained nearly constant).

I'm OK with reducing meth abuse and increasing gun control, but in the end that's just an easy and extremely inefficient way out of tackling the harder but much more widespread problem of low mental health.

The politicians involved may now be patting themselves on the back for taking immediate (read: rash) and decisive actions with many thumbs-up by the voters, but in reality they'll achieve little by focusing on excesses and ignoring the bigger picture.

People are really going crazy from this drug they cannot sleep.  I seen a bus worker one time when traveling he was like talking to hi.self handed me a bullet . Then later I heard of some fatality on the bus line he was completely off his rocker. Wonder if there is other chemical besides meth in it . Bad stuff is China supplying the chemicals . You guys used to get kilos now you get tons of it with Chinese stamps .. how you like China now?

Until they sort out corruption the Thai authorities have no chance of stamping out Meth or any other lucrative criminal activity as the dealers will simply bribe enough people high up to be left in peace whilst now and again throwing the police a low level dealer to allow the police to claim some victories over drug supply and use.
