Should have complained to the military police. He might have gotten more joy from them.

However, if this guy knew his wife was screwing around he should be out of there anyway.

This is what happens when there is a big age gap between them. The man might have married a young wife. As the master ownership changes hand when she had her own coffee shop, she might have decided to dump him for a more reliable younger partner. Pity on that Israeli man for relocating all his wealth to Thailand and trusting a woman who is only interested in money.

He is doing the right thing.

Legal advice, looking out for the welfare of the children (his or otherwise) stands him well in thai law and culture.

Hopefully a win win for him.

Have seen instances of thai females abandoning their children for a new relationship, rare but happens.

 I don't think there's a big age gap, he is 53 now and married her in 2001. He was just 32 back then when marrying her.

At least it seems the kids are siding with the man on this one.

After raising 5 children for 20 years, too late for that. On the upside it seems like the children are siding with him, so blood or not they are family. The wife should go to hell which is exactly where she'll end up once she pisses off the "soldier" and he shoots her.

Never, never, never move to her home town. It's never about the coffee shop - if she wants to move it's for a guy or other nefarious reasons. If she wants to move, move on.

after 5 children and 20 years of marriage, the women ran away, better so be it, buy a good shampoo and wash the hair and forget.  Better the children be with him and so as he can bring them up.  Greed for Money is gearing up across ladies in thailand.

The RTA is getting involved now that the lawyer disclosed the assault publicly.   The officer's senior commander has taken his weapon and had the officer taken to the police to "be informed of charges of possessing a firearm in public and firing said firearm in public".  The RTA have also setup a committee to consider disciplinary punishment.

Let's hope the police that refused to take the case are investigated as well, but we hear crickets from the RTP about this.

Why are military officers off-duty (presumed he was off-duty) allowed weapons off-base?
