UPDATE Four suspects have reportedly admitted that they physically assaulted an American tourist in Patong early yesterday morning. The assault happened at the nightlife hotspot of Bangla Road. Patong Police Chief Colonel Sujin Nilbodee told The Phuket Express… “The four suspects have admitted they attacked the American man who they claimed was intoxicated before an argument began followed by a physical confrontation.” Sujin said it was still unclear who started the altercation. Hard to tell what actually happened and which side is (more) wrong (probably both), but would be nice to have a clue which bar it is - so we can stay away. Bars where staff gang up 4-on-1 to attack a customer do not deserve to have customers. At least from how this sounds, seems like he just annoyed them so they decided to beat him up.

Article didn't say what time the incident happened.  

Keeping stats on incidents can show where problem areas are.  Police can then force all are in a problem area to close earlier.  Bare might enforce their areas themselves.

Data collection of road accidents would help too!

Bangla Road, Patong..... enough said Bars, open late morning and shut early morning. 

As for road statistics they would just show how incompetent local police are as they only want to stop tea money motorists. Remember having no driving licence is only a 400 baht fine then you can keep driving !
