A colossal crocodile was spotted stomping through the rainy streets of Chachoengsao province in eastern Thailand last week. Locals driving through the rain in Bang Kaew district did a double take when they realised what they initially thought was a monitor lizard was actually a crocodile. I witnessed two young crocs (15'' - 18'' inches) sunbathing on the banks of a canal running off the Bang Pakong river, Chachoengsao, not too far from Lanna resort in 2014.
The locals didn't take the sighting seriously.

That same week, in the same area, I came across a python straddled across the road, tail in one paddy field, head in another. It's body as wide as the top part of a human's leg. It took 20 minutes for a wildlife rescue team to appear and capture the snake and return it to the surrounding mountains.
They measured it at 26 feet and considered it a danger to the small children and animals of a nearby village.
