We enjoy all of those dishes in the North also. 

Khao Yam is made by a near neighbour and we buy it often as a refreshing change from green salads.  Once mixed it doesn't look as attractive but sure is tasty.

Khao Yam is just a copied version of Malaysia's Nasi Kerabu down to the usage of budu
