A bus driver and a motorcycle rider got into a brawl on Phetchaburi Road in Bangkok last week after the former honked his horn at him. A video of the scrap between the driver from the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) and the motorcycle rider started circulating on Thai social media last Tuesday, September 20. The video shows a male bus driver in a white BMTA uniform being beaten to the ground by the rider. A female BMTA member of staff is seen tentatively trying to separate the pair but backs off afraid. It clearly looks as though it's the bus driver that beats the motorcycle rider to the ground in the video clip.

the photo shows the bus driver beats the bike driver black and white, where as the commentry says that the bus driver was beaten up.

in either case beating anyone for any offence is forbidden, bus driver needs to prove that the bike driver is indeed speaking in a phone, hence honked, where as the bike driver is in real trouble to beat the public servant.

if the bus driver has been the bike driver is after the bike driver has beaten the bus driver, hence the bus driver is saved.

Yes, we see a lot increase in bikes around the streets and the drivers are driving crazy in front of the  cars, busses, and trucks.

THERE SHOULD BE A RULE THAT TWO WHEELERS NEEDS TO TRAVEL ON THE LEFT AND THE LEFT LANE NEEDS TO BE MARKED FOR TWO WHEELERS.

As the two wheelers are increasing in quantity, it is better Road transport department provides such suggestion to divide the roads, this is happening in most of the countries to  reduce the biker vs 4 wheeler deaths.

I believe such a rule or law already exists for motorcycles in Thailand.  One of the many charges that the Thai policeman faced, who killed a doctor in a zebra crossing was, "Failing to keep his motorcycle in the left lane."

Cop who killed doctor on zebra crossing told of more charges (bangkokpost.com)

It is (ridiculously) an offence to appear in public without underwear. Where is the whale's?

He must have been in a rush in the morning.  He forgot his underwear and mistakenly put on his wife's pants. 😂😂

I sincerely hope that this is a Thaiger misquote: "the BMTA vowed to investigate the incident and punish the driver according to the company rules". Reading the story, I believe what the driver did by sounding his horn was nothing more than a duty of care. The (petulant?) actions of the rider, on the other hand are at about five-year-old level.

Then, if the story is accurate, he then assaulted the driver who, by the looks of the pictures succeeded in defending himself. I am pretty sure the Police need to get off their collective butt and investigate fully regarding the allegation that the rider was unlawfully using his phone while mobile, damage to property (punching the bus) and assault on the person (the driver).

As for the BMTA, perhaps they need to "investigate the incident and take appropriate actions in keeping with their guidelines"?

What kick in the face? Nothing in the article about that - punches were thrown both ways
