Walking on pavements in Thailand is a hazardous affair at the best of times. Pedestrians have a number of dangers to look out for such as speeding motorcyclists, scooters, cars backing up or even street vendors with their carts. How do you complain ... where I am individual sections of the sidewalk appear to belong to shop owners some are maintained some not ... so which part is owned by the local authority, its impossible to tell if any.

Thats why disabled access is so terrible .. a disabled tourist can go just about knowhere alone to say the least

Thats why i never step on a drain. always watch electrical cables and expect traffic to do the unexpected. Thailand has been voted one of the most dangerous tourist destinations on earth every year for a reason. Its not a western culture yet tourists treat it like spain or greece ... that is the mistake. Just call me naturally cautious...

HORRIBLE sidewalks throughout Bangkok has always been my number ONE criticism of this exceptional city. Simply horrible, even thru the main parts of the city on Sukhumvit, not to mention other major thoroughfares.
