My favourite Unplugged concert is Alice in Chains, 1996. Layne Staley was in bad shape at the time, caught in a downwards spiral of addiction and depression which would lead to his untimely death six years later.

But for this gig, he gave everything he had and the band, although they had not played together in a long time, delivered an outstanding performance. Metallica were in the audience.
