Caretaker Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan was caught sleeping on the job this afternoon. The 77 year old was in Krabi province today overseeing a joint meeting with several water and land use agencies to discuss water management issues when he dozed off. The sooner the make it a mandatory requirement of retirement at 70 for all positions the better.

Not only in Thailand but in all countries. Excuses like "they have so much accumulated wisdom we would lose" well let the younger ones get smarter knowing they're of limited worth in years. 

It's only the hunger for control and power that keeps them there and the "hanger ons" that justify their own existance by keeping them in powerful positions.

What solid photographic evidence and -since that's important for the argument- why wasn't it referenced? 

I hope it's not a photograph showing closed eyes (like the one heading this article), because if that constitutes "solid evidence" the entire article should be between quotes. People close their eyes often without sleeping, sometimes for a long period on occasions that are special to them (or because of an adherence to cultural expectations).

As evidence, I'd accept a video continuously showing closed eyes (REM-movements would be a bonus) with a dash of snoring, drooling and/or drooping. 

PS: as usual, this is not about Prawit sleeping/not sleeping (no hidden agenda: I simply don't care which is the case). If pressed, I'd opt for "sleeping" as best guess. But that doesn't matter: it's all about the validity of some reasoning to "prove" some conclusion.

Mandatory independent psychology assessments prior to holding ANY office including UN posts, would be a game changer. 

If pilots and most of us have to do it, why should the loonies get to run the asylum. 

Look where the worst of them have taken us.
