Nowadays keeping a dog is so tough.

Bringing my dog to a vet is more expensive than my doctor.

My  haircut is cheaper than my dog's grooming.

His vitamins are dearer than mine.

My meals costs less than his dog food .

Lodging him in a pet hotel costs more than my airbnb.

😀

Every single thing you said is true!

My dogs grooming on Friday was $150cad after tip

I've told my wife she should go to school for grooming

We have to call a month in advance they are booked solid every single day

My roommate from university is a veterinarian, and business is booming 💰

I've become to hate vets, I think they are all a racket unless you go to an SPCA type clinic

The private vets are there to make money and don't give a shit about the animals

They act like they do but they don't

I suspect that a lot of them are no more qualified than I am

Go somewhere else, we have tried up to a dozen until we found the right one, 1,200 Baht for 3 dogs , albeit that she is 70km from our home, but worth the journey.

Think a lot had the ambition but lacked the grey matter and hung out a sign anyway.

Very right in suggesting "shop around"

Actual hands on vets are rare.

If they come out to your car and look without touching the animal, move to the next option, they only want to give you a big bill for all the drugs that are not selling or are more profitable. (basically they are clueless)

Will not get any cheaper in Vancouver for a large Golden Retriever

I remember when I had my German Shepherd in Patong

My wife would call the groomer

They'd swing by and put him in a sidecar and bring him back a few hours later for around 1k baht

That was great!

I agree 100%

I do believe the surgeons and emergency vets are knowledgeable

But your average vet is just there for money making and push needless costs on you

My Golden has what I suspected Larygenal Paralysis

Basically a flap on his esophagus came loose

I was the one who suggested he had it from my own research 2 years ago

But the vet acted as if it wasn't that big of a deal

Also I've been mentioning to 2 or 3 different vets at the clinic over time that I think his hind legs are getting weak

They all did a 1min check and said his legs movements seemed OK

Come to find out it is all connected and called GOLPP

It's a nervous system issue and now his hind legs are really bad

I've been telling them for 2 years and they never once mentioned GOLPP

I could have been doing things to prvern the back leg weakness

They are useless scam artists

Changed to the SPCA and he will have surgery in October
