Heavy rainfall which began yesterday and continued through the night caused flash flooding in several areas of Bangkok and surrounding provinces, disrupting traffic, education and business. Deep flooding caused Chaeng Wattana Road and Phahon Yothin Road heading towards Saphan Mai in Bang Khen district to become impassible last night leaving many cars stranded. At 8am this morning, remaining floodwater congested traffic on Soi Ratchadapisek 36, Tiwanon Road, Rangsit U-turn bridge, Soi Pahonyothin 49/1 and Lad Phrao Road. Yep, had to wade through some reasonably deep water here in Bang Khen this morning to go get some breakfast. Had a good laugh with the locals about it. Even as I write now, some 4 hours later, the SOI that I am on is still under water but at least it is warm.
