The Pajero driver never stop to look both sides for on-coming traffic. He is on the wrong side when taking the diversion. Looks like he is not used to the right hand driving....

Looks like Thais aren't the only bad drivers out there.

Definitely not. I believe many foreigners adapt pretty quickly to the Thai style, in particular motorbike riders. When in Thailand, do as the Thais do.

RIP and a speedy recovery for the injured passenger, 100% the SUV driver fault, it looks like the driver was not used to driving on the left of the road, but 3 students on a bike, no mention of crash helmets, when will the abuse of drivers/riders in Thailand be sorted together with good quality enforcement

It takes a little getting into the habit but take the extra time to enter traffic in Thailand,  You have the ones doing it right and the ones doing it wrong (ie coming down one way the wrong way etc.)

You are on holiday, or retired, there is no hurry to be any where. Shrug and triple check and you still may get caught out, but hopefully only a near miss. TIT.

This poor bugga is going to be in a nightmare, and the girls, just starting life, cut short far too early.

Not to say the motorbike was wrong, but sometimes with uturns (getting out of a driveway from this angle is similar) you take a good look and still out of nowhere a motorbike pops up.

Knowing this in Thailand, you always should take an extra extra look before you go.

Whenever the traffic from the right is gone you can just drive on the road until from the left is gone too. He seems to want to do it all at once. It works many times.... But only takes once and you really f up badly.

yeah, I love these buggers, blocking one direction in total because they can't even estimate, when there would be no one coming from the left.

If you CAN't drive in one move, you simple wait where you are. Or turn left and go for the next u-turn. They are dangerous enough!

This driver killed 2 of the 3. but even with only the maximum allowed 2 on the bike, he would have killed all 2.

Lets hope, he has a good insurance or enough money. And that the families get all of it!

If no traffic is coming, it's certainly possible. He didn't look well enough tho, so it's his fault.

Btw on a road like this, there's no uturn.

You mean, I should drive like an idiot too?

This is exactly the reason why driving motor vehicle is among the list of jobs prohibited to foreigners. The people who drafted that law had the foresight of something like this happening!
