A Tourist Visa would grant a stay of 60 days on entry, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at Immigration (1,900 BHT), total 90 day stay.

Details and requirements on the Thai Embassy website.

@Faz Is it worth mentioning the 45 day VE option? I understand that is only 1st October to 31 December at the moment but I suppose it might be made permanent. Are there any extensions possible with a VE entry?

Even a VE entry of 45 days + a 30-day extension will only grant a stay of 75 days.
The OP stated they wanted to stay 3 months. 90 days is near enough.

Fair enough. Anyway when they read this they will see that they have an option of a 75 day trip without having to get a visa in advance if that suits them
