News Forum - CCSA to dissolve with end of Emergency Decree October 1

Recommended Posts

After over two and a half years, it’s finally time to say goodbye to our old friend, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration. PM Prayut Chan-o-cha announced that the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations which has been in effect since March 24, 2020, which created the CCSA to cope with the coronavirus pandemic, will not be extended a twentieth time when it is set to expire on September 30. Thailand will enter the post-State of Emergency world on October 1, when the Emergency Decree will end, and with it the dissolution of the CCSA. From that point […]

Another statement that came out of that same meeting was that at least 30,000 (indirectly confirmed) infections occur daily (which is plausible albeit a bit on the high-end: some independent, recognized experts have been claiming "only" 20,000-30,0000 per day for months). How can there be only 70,000 isolations with  30,000 cases per day? Assuming a minimum isolation period of 5 days, there should/ought to be over twice as many isolations.

Either 30,000 cases is overestimated by a factor of ~2, or 70,000 isolations is underestimated by that factor, or there are a lot of free-range cases (or any distribution in-between). I don't really care which is the case, but some consistency or an explanation for the inconsistencies would be have been nice.

Anyway, they (CCSA) won't be around much longer to produce unexplained, seemingly contradictory statements, and abandoning the emergency decree is great too.

Believe it when I see it, he needs that emergency decree to keep the protesters in line and in jail for the up coming elections.  Either that or he has found a new way to maintain power, if he has no one will like it.

So at last, covid is not as bad as first said, costing the economy and millions unemployed.

Hopefully the country can recover so people can get back to work.

Was devastating the world over, all of which will be incredibly difficult to recover from any time soon.

2.5 years passing, and only a few societies handled this unnecessary mess unscathed.

Monkeypox is the new shiny object to try unnecessarily alarm people over.

This is a good step assuming it happens. The emergency does not exist and the CCSA is unnecessary.

However, they're still peddling indefinite and permanent mass mask wearing. Yes it's not mandated, but until this changes, the "emergency" will still be top of mind.

“From October 1, Covid-19 will become a disease under surveillance but not endemic, which means wearing a facemask in crowded public places will remain necessary

Yes, I suppose 32,000 Thai deaths is not so bad.....

So, what? Double that number, treble it etc..... what number would be acceptable to have kept everything open.

Oh please! Move on, it's over...if it ever started. if you want to cower behind your sofa forever, up to you, but for the majority 2 and a half years is more than enough, or do you want to be locked down indefinitely?

A broader company might appreciate these ideals.

That's what they're in business for.

Two apps, Good Doctor Technology and MorDee will be available to help those who are asymptomatic or inflicted with mild infections.

So not one but two apps to help people that are not sick or have a headache. Isn't it amazing what new technologies can do? I had dengue fever twice the past 7 years in Thailand, the first one put me down for 2 weeks. No app there to help me. Nope, only an old fashioned pharmarcy to buy old time pain killers to reduce the pain and antique vitamins to boost my immune system.
